Dionaea, Venus flytrap

Dionaea muscipula or Venus flytrap is a carnivorous plant. The leaves instantly slam shut when the victim (insect) touches them.

Caring for the Dionaea muscipula plant:

     Lighting: Bright light and several hours of sun.
     Watering: The soil should always be moist and not allowed to dry out. Water with rain or distilled water.
     Temperature: In summer 22-27 °C, but not higher than 35 °C. In winter 3-7 °C.
     Air humidity: Air humidity 40-70%.
     Reproduction: Division, seeds, leaf cuttings, peduncles.
     Pests, diseases: Aphids, spider mites, gray mold, black sooty fungus and bacterial damage - this is when the trap cannot digest the caught insect and begins to decompose.
