Strelitzia blooming

The exotic plant Strelitzia is perfect for winter gardens, country cottages and large spacious halls.

The plant is native to South Africa and belongs to the Strelitziaceae family. The growth reaches 2 m in height, and the length of the leaves is up to a meter. It blooms with unusual, pointed flowers, bright shades, bizarre shapes. Most often, Strelitzia flowers can be seen in bouquets and are popular with florists.

The leaves are dark green, leathery, on long petioles 50-60cm. Caring for the plant is not difficult.

     Temperature: Prefers a cool room +14+15°C, minimum +12°C
     Lighting: In the morning and evening there is a certain amount of direct sunlight, it is advisable to shade during the day. Place the plant in a well-lit place, preferably an east window.
     Watering: In summer, water abundantly; the soil should not dry out completely between waterings. Moderately in winter, once every 10-14 days.
     Humidity: Spray the leaves with warm, soft water. Leave the water to stand for at least 24 hours.
     Feeding: From March to August, apply organic fertilizers twice a week along with watering.
     Transplantation: Young plants are replanted every year, adults every 2-3 years. The soil is clay-turf with an admixture of leaf and peat soil, as well as rotted mullein and sand, do not forget about drainage!
